Our Mission:
The Wolfeboro Public Library Foundation is a nonprofit corporation committed to support the growth and development of the Wolfeboro Public Library by enabling public support for the library, attracting private funding from individuals, businesses and organizations. Our grants to the library enhance library facilities and programs that benefit educational, cultural and community goals. Foundation grants to the library are separate from the Town’s obligations to support the library.
Our History:
Founded in 2011, the foundation played a significant role in providing private capital, in the amount of $1.3 Million, toward the renovation and 5,000 square foot expansion of the town library in 2019. This represented 26% of the total cost of the project, encouraging the taxpayers to fund the balance of the cost through a bond issue. The result was the creation of one of the finest libraries in New Hampshire, and a tremendous asset for Wolfeboro.
In addition, our foundation grants have paid for numerous enhancements of the library, such as furniture, equipment, solar panels for energy efficiency, materials for the children’s section activities, large print books, and landscaping for the grounds.
Our Future:
We look for opportunities to raise funds for additional library capital needs. We are grateful for the generosity of our donors who make possible what we do for the library.
